Punjab Announces Deadline for Parrot Registration — Here’s How to Apply

The Punjab Wildlife Department has officially launched the parrot registration campaign, setting December 5, 2025, as the final deadline for owners to register their birds.

According to officials, anyone keeping unregistered parrots after the deadline will face legal action, as per the Wildlife Act. The registration fee has been fixed at Rs. 1,000 per parrot.

The rule applies to Alexandrine parrots, rose-ringed parrots, grey-headed parrots, and blossom-headed parrots.

Citizens can easily register online via the Punjab Wildlife Department’s website or by using the official Wildlife mobile app.

Officials said the initiative aims to control illegal wildlife trade and ensure the protection of native bird species across the province.
