The Balochistan government has imposed a complete ban on pillion riding (double sawari) across the province under Section 144, effective immediately and valid until November 30, according to an official notification reported by ARY News.
Women and children, however, are exempted from the restriction.
This is the second notification within five days, further extending the province-wide security measures.
⚠️ Additional Restrictions
The provincial government has also banned:
-
Covering of faces in public (including masks and mufflers)
-
Transport of explosive materials and sulfuric acid
Officials said these directives were issued after amending the November 5 order to strengthen law and order amid ongoing security alerts.
🛑 Section 144 Extended in Punjab Too
In a similar move, the Punjab government has also extended Section 144 for another seven days — maintaining bans on protests, rallies, sit-ins, and public gatherings until November 15.
The Punjab Home Department stated that the extension aims to prevent unrest and ensure citizen safety. Exemptions include wedding ceremonies, funerals, official duties, and court proceedings.
