PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has imposed an immediate ban on all transfers and postings of teachers across the Elementary and Secondary Education Department.
According to the official notification issued by the Secretary of Elementary and Secondary Education, the restriction applies to all male and female teachers in the province.
⚠️ Why the Ban Was Imposed
The decision was taken following a high-level review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister of KP, aimed at promoting transparency, discipline, and consistency in the education system.
Officials said that frequent transfers were disrupting academic activities and creating administrative instability in schools.
🧑🏫 Who Is Exempt from the Ban
The restriction will not apply to:
-
✅ Appointments made through the KP Public Service Commission (KPPSC)
-
✅ Promotions approved by the Provincial Selection Board or Departmental Promotion Committee
-
✅ Court-ordered transfers

✅ Teachers who are awaiting posting
💻 New E-Posting Policy Coming Soon
The department also announced that a new digital E-Posting and Transfer Policy will soon be introduced.
Under this system, all future transfers will be handled through an online portal and conducted only during summer and winter vacations to minimize disruption in schools.
