Sindh’s New Pink Bus Move Creates Buzz — Women Commuters React

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has confirmed that the provincial government is continuing efforts to strengthen public transport across the province. He said residents can expect more positive updates soon, especially in Karachi’s bus network.

The minister announced that the Pink Bus service has now been expanded, with buses operating from Numaish Chorangi to Surjani to better support women commuters. He added that the service will soon be launched on the Edhi Orange Line BRT and the Green Line, allowing more women to access safer and dedicated transportation options.

He further shared that governments in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been encouraged to introduce similar women-focused transport services.

While speaking at the launch of the Pink Bus on the Green Line route, Memon revealed that the government is preparing special bikes for children with disabilities, which will be distributed free of cost. He said the Transport Department is holding daily meetings to finalize the distribution.

The minister stressed that accessible and inclusive transport is a shared responsibility, and the Sindh government aims to ensure that all groups receive the facilities they need.
