The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has directed all its formations to speed up ongoing maintenance work after taking notice of inconvenience faced by consumers due to scheduled shutdowns and power outages.
An IESCO spokesperson said the utility is currently carrying out maintenance activities on 11kV feeders, 132kV grid stations, and transmission lines under its Annual System Maintenance Program.
According to officials, maintenance teams have already completed work on the majority of 11kV feeders in the Islamabad Circle and surrounding areas. These include various sectors of Islamabad, Bhara Kahu, Murree, Nathia Gali, and other nearby tourist locations.
IESCO Chief Executive Officer Engineer Chaudhry Khalid Mahmood said the company aims to complete all shutdowns related to 11kV feeders in the Islamabad Circle and adjoining regions by the end of December.
He clarified that power interruptions linked to construction-related activities will continue as per the approved schedule, as these works are part of longer-term infrastructure upgrades.
The spokesperson added that the Operations and Maintenance Directorate has uploaded the revised shutdown schedule on IESCO’s official website to keep consumers informed.
Consumers have also been advised to contact IESCO’s 118 helpline, which remains operational 24/7, for updates or assistance regarding power outages and maintenance work.
