Punjab Traffic Police has introduced a new facility for driving license holders by reaffirming the legal validity of electronic driving licenses (e-licenses) across the province.
In a public advisory, the department clarified that e-licenses are fully valid documents and must be accepted by traffic police officials during routine checks. The advisory aims to remove confusion among both citizens and enforcement staff regarding the use of digital licenses.
Authorities warned that if any traffic police officer refuses to accept an e-license, citizens should immediately register a complaint so that action can be taken against the concerned official.
📢 How to Report Complaints
Punjab Traffic Police has shared official channels for citizens to report violations:
-
Helpline: 1787
-
WhatsApp: 0318-4642936
The department urged the public to use these channels without hesitation if they face any issues while presenting their e-license.
Officials said the e-license facility is part of Punjab Traffic Police’s broader digital transformation initiative, designed to make services more convenient, transparent, and accessible for citizens.
The advisory emphasized that electronic driving licenses are legally recognized, and motorists are entitled to use them just like physical license cards.
Punjab Traffic Police encouraged drivers to download and keep their e-licenses readily available and assured that complaints regarding non-acceptance would be addressed promptly.
