The decision comes after authorities received multiple complaints regarding delays and non-payment of allowances to teachers performing survey-related tasks outside regular working days.

To ensure smooth and timely payments, the Punjab Urban Unit has issued formal letters to all concerned departments, directing them to complete the compensation process without delay.

Teachers’ organizations have welcomed the move, calling it a long-overdue step. Union representatives stated that compensation for extra duties is the legitimate right of teachers and will help improve morale.

According to educators, the decision is expected to enhance efficiency and data accuracy in the ongoing socio-economic survey while addressing long-standing grievances of teaching staff.
