Pakistan has successfully hosted its first International Quran Recitation Competition, with top contestants from 37 countries taking part in Islamabad.
The grand prize of Rs. 5 million went to Malaysian reciter Aiman Rizwan bin Muhammad Ramlan, who secured first place. Iran’s Adnan came second, winning Rs. 3 million, while Pakistan’s Abdul Rashid took third place with a Rs. 2 million award.
The prize distribution ceremony was held at the Convention Centre and began with recitation by Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Federal Minister Sardar Yousaf handed out the awards.
Officials said the competition reflects Pakistan’s commitment to unity in the Muslim world and aims to strengthen young people’s connection with the Holy Quran.
