Karachi Traffic Police Officials Face Major Restriction After E-Challan Rollout

Inspector General of Sindh Police Ghulam Nabi Memon has announced a complete ban on the transfer of traffic police officials across Karachi following the full implementation of the e-challan system in the city.

According to the official order, no traffic officer or constable will be transferred to district police departments, and this restriction also applies to those whose transfer notifications were already issued.

IG Memon stated that the decision aims to maintain consistency in Karachi’s traffic management system and ensure smooth enforcement of e-challan operations.

The move comes after reports from the DIG Traffic revealed that several officers were seeking transfers following the system’s launch, while some underperforming officials attempted to leave traffic duties altogether.

Authorities believe this ban will help stabilize staff performance, maintain discipline, and support the city’s digital traffic monitoring expansion.
