Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has set a new deadline for Islamabad’s three major road projects after reviewing their progress during a late-night visit to the CDA headquarters.
Naqvi inspected the Shaheen Chowk expansion, the T-Chowk flyover, and the Faizabad Interchange upgrade.
CDA officials briefed that:
-
T-Chowk Flyover: 80% completed
-
Shaheen Chowk: 65% completed
-
Faizabad Interchange Loop: 70% completed
Although these projects were originally planned for completion in March–April, the minister said the current pace means they should be finished by the end of next month. He instructed CDA to ensure the new deadline is met.
During the visit, Naqvi also asked about the pending stretch of Margalla Avenue (GT Road to Peshawar Motorway) and ordered CDA to start work on the remaining section as soon as possible.
