Quetta, Pakistan – November 2025: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has issued a revised gas load management schedule for consumers across Balochistan, introducing changes aimed at offering maximum relief to households as winter demand rises.
The new policy was finalized following strong recommendations from both the Chief Minister of Balochistan and the Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court, who urged the utility provider to ensure that residents receive adequate gas supply during peak evening hours.
Gas Suspension Timing Shifted for Public Convenience
Under the updated schedule, gas supply will now be suspended from 12 a.m. (midnight) to 5 a.m.
Previously, the shutdown period began at 10 p.m., causing difficulties for families who rely on gas for late-evening cooking and heating.
By shifting the start time forward by two hours, SSGC says the adjustment will help households manage their night-time cooking routines, provide warmer indoor temperatures, and reduce stress on families that rely heavily on gas heaters.
SSGC officials stated that the decision was made after careful evaluation of public feedback and winter consumption patterns. The company said the goal is to balance limited supply with higher seasonal demand, while ensuring that consumers experience minimum hardship.
Officials Assure Additional Measures for Winter Stability
According to company sources, further measures are also being examined to maintain continuous supply during early morning and evening peak usage windows. The utility provider is monitoring regional gas pressure, supply inflow, and consumer loads to prevent unannounced outages during extreme winter days.
Authorities added that the revised schedule will be reviewed regularly, and additional adjustments could be made based on weather conditions, demand spikes, and public convenience.
Impact on Daily Life Across Balochistan
The updated gas shutdown timing is expected to benefit millions of users across the province. Families will now have access to uninterrupted gas supply during:
-
Dinner preparation hours
-
Early winter nights
-
Evening heating requirements
Residents have welcomed the decision, calling it a much-needed relief step as winter temperatures continue to drop across the region.
