Pakistan clinched the Tri-Series title with a commanding six-wicket win over Sri Lanka at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, thanks to a brilliant all-round performance led by the spinners.
Batting first, Sri Lanka started well with a 28-run opening stand as Pathum Nissanka looked in good touch. But once Pakistan introduced spin, the innings fell apart. From a steady 92-2, Sri Lanka collapsed dramatically and were bowled out for just 114, unable to build any partnerships.
Chasing a modest target, Pakistan looked in control from the start. Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan added 44 runs for the first wicket, with Saim smashing a quick 36 to put Pakistan ahead early.
Sri Lanka’s Pavan Rathnayake grabbed two wickets to create brief pressure, but the total was never enough to trouble Pakistan.
Babar Azam finished the job with his usual calmness, staying unbeaten on 32 and guiding the team home without any real danger.
Pakistan’s dominant display — especially from the spin attack — not only secured the Tri-Series trophy but also boosted confidence ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
