Punjab’s wildlife department has released the official schedule for the upcoming Francolin hunting season, along with strict rules and limited permits for hunters.
Hunting Season Dates
The season will open in three phases:

December 1, 2025 – February 15, 2026

December 14, 2025 – February 15, 2026

January 10, 2026 – February 15, 2026
Hunting will only be allowed on Sundays, and only for individuals carrying licensed weapons.
Where Hunting Is Allowed
Hunting is permitted only at officially designated grounds and open areas prepared by the wildlife department. No other location is allowed.
Permit Auctions
The government has announced auction dates for hunting permits:

Salt Range Hunting Ground: December 8–10

Lahore Safari Zoo: December 2–4

Cholistan & Chinkara Public Wildlife Reserves: Open from January 10 to February 15, 2026
Strict Ban on Certain Weapons & Gadgets
The following are completely banned:

Military-grade firearms

Silencer-fitted weapons

Drones
-
Electronic tracking devices

Air guns
Officials warn that anyone violating the rules will face strict penalties.
