Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has officially confirmed the winter holiday schedule for educational institutions across the province.
In a public announcement on his official social media channels, the minister stated that schools and colleges will remain closed from December 22 to January 10.
Earlier, the minister introduced major changes to the matric and intermediate examination timetable. Under the revised plan, both matriculation and intermediate exams will now be held after Ramadan and Eid, instead of the usual schedule.
The updated calendar proposes matric exams starting around March 24, followed by intermediate exams. Officials say the change is intended to give students a more relaxed preparation window and reduce academic pressure during the holy month.
Education authorities are expected to release detailed notifications to schools in the coming days.
