The Murree district administration has announced extended winter vacations for schools and colleges in the hilly regions, citing harsh weather conditions as the primary reason.
According to a notification released by the Chief Executive Officer of the District Education Authority Murree, educational institutions in Murree and Kotli Sattian will remain closed from December 22, 2025, to March 7, 2026. Schools and colleges are scheduled to reopen on March 9, 2026.

Authorities instructed school heads to complete midterm examinations before the winter break begins and to announce results prior to the closure to ensure smooth academic operations.
The district administration emphasized that the extended closure is aimed at ensuring the safety of students, teachers, and staff during the severe winter season in the mountainous areas.
This announcement affects both public and private educational institutions, highlighting the government’s proactive approach to student welfare in regions prone to harsh climatic conditions.
