The Punjab government has confirmed that a new electric bus service will launch in Jhang on December 12, expanding Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Green Initiative to yet another district.
According to the Punjab Transport Company, the electric buses will operate on three primary routes:
-
GBS Jhang to Gojra Bypass
-
Bus Stand Jhang to Aliabad
-
GBS Jhang to UVAS
Officials said the service is designed to offer residents a safer, cleaner, and more comfortable travel experience. The buses come equipped with WiFi, modern commuter facilities, and eco-friendly electric technology aimed at reducing emissions and fuel use.
The initiative aligns with the provincial government’s broader plan to promote sustainable transport across Punjab and transition toward low-emission mobility solutions.
Authorities noted that the new service will improve daily mobility for Jhang residents while reinforcing the government’s commitment to environmentally friendly public transportation.
The rollout in Jhang follows earlier deployments in other districts, reflecting continued momentum toward green urban transport under the Chief Minister’s directive.
