Rohit Sharma Breaks Shahid Afridi’s 15-Year ODI Sixes Record

India’s captain Rohit Sharma has officially ended Shahid Afridi’s long-standing world record by becoming the player with the most sixes in ODI cricket.

Rohit crossed the milestone during the first ODI against South Africa in Ranchi, where he smashed three sixes during a fast-paced half-century. He started the match with 349 sixes and needed only three to pass Afridi’s 351. He now sits at 352 sixes in 269 innings.

Most Sixes in ODIs

  • Rohit Sharma – 352

  • Shahid Afridi – 351

  • Chris Gayle – 331

Rohit is also the number one six-hitter in all international cricket, with a massive 645 sixes across formats—far ahead of Chris Gayle (553) and Afridi (476).

This record cements Rohit Sharma’s place as one of the most dangerous white-ball batters in the world.
