Samsung is finally bringing back its A7x lineup with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A77 5G, marking the series’ first new model since the Galaxy A73 in 2022.
A prototype of the Galaxy A77 5G recently appeared on Geekbench, showing 8GB RAM, Android 16, and a new “mystery” chipset believed to be based on Samsung’s Exynos 2400 series.
However, early details suggest this chip is a lower-clocked version, placing the A77 in the upper-midrange category rather than competing with Samsung’s premium devices.
Expected Chip Setup
-
3 high-performance Prime cores @ 2.78GHz
-
3 performance cores @ 2.3GHz
-
4 efficiency cores @ 1.82GHz
The CPU remains deca-core, similar to the Exynos 2400 and 2400e, but with modest clock speeds. This hints that Samsung may be using a scaled-down Exynos 2400 variant to keep costs low while still offering solid performance.
The Galaxy A77 5G is expected to launch as a major refresh for Samsung’s mid-range segment in 2024–25, bringing back the once-popular A7x series.
More details including the camera setup, battery capacity, and design are expected once the device enters the official certification stage.
