The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has released its winter load management plan, confirming that residential consumers in Sindh will face nightly gas shutdowns from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. due to a sharp drop in supply.
Officials say the revised schedule is part of a seasonal adjustment strategy designed to distribute limited gas resources more effectively throughout colder months.
A company spokesperson confirmed that the timetable is based on a load management framework approved by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC). She added that there were no initial plans to impose load-shedding on households in Sindh and Balochistan, but falling supply levels forced a change in policy.
The spokesperson said the overnight shutdown will help rebuild line-pack pressure to ensure daytime availability for domestic use.
In addition to household cuts, the CNG sector will also face weekly closures under conservation measures, with further details expected in the coming days.
