The UAE is now processing almost 500 visas per day for Pakistanis, according to UAE Ambassador Salem M. Salem Al Zaabi during his meeting with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.
The ambassador said the UAE has introduced several new steps to make the process faster, including online visa applications, e-visas without passport stamping, system-to-system data sharing with Pakistan, and a new visa center for quicker processing.
He also praised Pakistani workers in the UAE and said both countries are expanding cooperation in trade, investment, ports, logistics, technology, and agriculture.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Interior Ministry had told the Senate that the UAE was limiting visas due to concerns about passport misuse and human trafficking, but the UAE ambassador highlighted new facilitation measures meant to improve mobility for Pakistanis.
Minister Aurangzeb welcomed the reforms, saying easier travel will boost investment and private-sector ties.
