The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has officially declared Saturday as a weekly holiday for all its partner schools as part of the punjab school saturday holiday 2025 policy. The notification has been implemented immediately, giving relief to thousands of students and teachers who previously attended six days a week.
According to PEF, the decision was made due to increasing smog levels, student health concerns, and rising workload on teachers. Updated school timings have also been shared with administrations across Punjab.
Along with the new weekly schedule, PEF has announced fresh recruitment for 2025–26, including Subject Specialists, Network Support Engineers, Executive Assistants, and Drivers with competitive salaries.
Authorities have also warned private schools not to violate smog-control policies by arranging outdoor trips during peak pollution.
The Saturday holiday is expected to improve student well-being, attendance, and overall academic performance, while giving teachers more time for planning and administrative work.
