The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad will host Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches in the upcoming season. The announcement was made by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi during the PSL roadshow in New York, highlighting the league’s push to expand beyond traditional host cities.
Iqbal Stadium, formerly known as Lyallpur Stadium, is one of Pakistan’s historic cricket grounds. Built in the 1970s, it has hosted 24 Test matches and 19 One-Day Internationals, along with numerous domestic competitions, including the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. The stadium has a seating capacity of around 17,000 spectators.
International cricket returned to Faisalabad in 2025 after a 17-year hiatus. Although initially scheduled to host two T20Is against Bangladesh, the fixtures were later shifted. However, the stadium successfully staged a three-match ODI series against South Africa in November 2025, drawing packed stands and a lively atmosphere.
The inclusion of Iqbal Stadium as a PSL venue comes as the league expands to eight teams in its 11th season. Faisalabad is also among the shortlisted cities expected to host its own franchise, making the city a key addition to Pakistan’s domestic and international cricket map.
Fans in Faisalabad can now look forward to witnessing top-level T20 action at their historic home ground, as the PCB continues to promote cricket across new cities and regions.
