Rajab Moon Sighted in Pakistan, First Day From December 22

The federal government has officially announced that the moon for Rajab 1447 AH has been sighted in Pakistan, marking the beginning of the new Islamic month.

According to an official notification issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, the announcement was made following a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

As per the notification, 1st Rajab 1447 AH will begin on Monday, December 22, 2025.

Rajab is considered one of the four sacred months in Islam and holds special religious significance for Muslims. The month precedes Shaban and Ramazan, during which preparations for fasting and increased worship usually begin.

The government’s announcement brings clarity for religious observances, including optional fasting, prayers, and other spiritual activities associated with the month of Rajab.
