Pakistan Railways has temporarily suspended its winter schedule and reverted to the summer timetable amid ongoing engineering works and signaling system issues that have caused frequent train delays nationwide.
According to officials, this is the first time in history that train operations during the winter season will follow the summer schedule. The timetable that was originally valid from April 15 to October 14, 2025, will now be reapplied from November 10, 2025.
Sources revealed that several trains were already facing long delays — in some cases, travel time between Lahore and Karachi has increased by more than four hours, with certain services taking up to 24 hours to complete the route.
A Pakistan Railways spokesperson stated that the adjustment is temporary and regular schedules will resume once track maintenance and signaling upgrades are complete. Passengers are advised to check the latest train timings before traveling to avoid inconvenience.
