The UK Home Office has announced a new fast-track route to permanent residency (ILR) for high earners and top-tier professionals. The change was introduced by Shabana Mahmood.
Under the new policy, eligible migrants can get ILR in three years instead of the previous longer timelines.

-
Hold Global Talent or Innovator Founder visas
Skilled workers earning £50,000–£125,000 will follow the five-year route. Most other applicants will be placed on a new 10-year track.
The Home Office says the changes reward strong economic contribution.

Higher fluency may reduce the 10-year path.
