Who Can Qualify?

Pakistanis in the UK may qualify if they:

  • Earn above £125,000, or

  • Hold Global Talent or Innovator Founder visas

Skilled workers earning £50,000–£125,000 will follow the five-year route. Most other applicants will be placed on a new 10-year track.

The Home Office says the changes reward strong economic contribution.

Key Requirements

Applicants must show:

  • Clean criminal record

  • Regular tax + National Insurance payments

  • No unpaid NHS or Home Office debts

  • English-language proof

Higher fluency may reduce the 10-year path.

Penalties That Can Delay PR

  • Claiming public benefits under 12 months → +5 years

  • Claiming benefits over 12 months → +10 years

  • Illegal entry (such as small boats) → +20 years

Documents Needed

Visa history, payslips, P60s, HMRC records, English certificate, criminal check, proof of address, and financial compliance documents.

Who Is Not Included?

The fast-track does NOT apply to:

  • Spouses/family members of British citizens

  • BN(O) migrants from Hong Kong

  • Windrush cases

  • EU Settlement Scheme applicants

  • Public-sector workers (doctors, nurses, teachers)

Experts say the new policy will benefit high-skilled Pakistanis looking for long-term stability in the UK.
